Tres bonitas playas de Los Cabos

Hay tres playas en Los Cabos que no te puedes perder. Si bien, eres un vacacionista que pisa por primera vez territorio sudcaliforniano, o si estás en busca de nuevas aventuras como local, tenemos algunos consejos para ti sobre estas hermosas playas cristalinas que cuentan con la certificación Blue Flag como lo es Santa María.  

Podemos empezar con la playa Las Viudas. Las Viudas es una playa tranquila, de tamaño pequeño y de grandes rocas que desfilan a los costados del mar. Al igual que la mayoría de las playas en Los Cabos, el océano de Las Viudas tiene diferentes tipos de color azul. Azul aguamarina, azul neón, azul marino y azul turquesa.

El encanto de esta playa es su fácil acceso por carro, el estacionamiento que se encuentra a unos pasos de la playa en sí, su gran tranquilidad y su hermosa vista.

¿Qué hacer en la playa Las Viudas?

  • Juega un partido de fútbol  


Santa María es una de las playas más visitadas de Los Cabos. Conocida como uno de los lugares más entretenidos para snorkelear, Santa María acaba obtener la certificación Blue Flag. Cuenta con sanitarios propiamente equipados, regaderas para poder limpiarte el agua salada, bebederos, rampas para personas discapacitadas y un trayecto de concreto para facilitar tu caminata de la playa a los baños.

El estacionamiento es de cemento y  bastante amplio para que nadie se pueda perder la diversión de visitar Santa María.

La playa en sí es hermosa. Los yates y barcos se anclan cerca de la orilla y la biosfera marina que encontrarás en este sitio, es un acuario al aire libre ideal para snorkelear. Los niños juegan mientras los papás se broncean cerca del mar y disfrutan.

Asimismo, se cuenta con salvavidas que están al pendiente del lugar y están capacitados para brindarte la mejor seguridad.

Por último, está Chileno Bay. Una de las playas más reconocidas de Los Cabos. Chileno es grande y encantadora. Cada vez que voy, me encanta meterme al agua y nadar cerca de las piedras que están hasta la otra punta de la playa. 

Los colores del mar son bonitos y mi piel se transparenta en ellos. Y al momento de sumergirte, podrás ver a los pequeños peces que nadar a tu alrededor.

Chileno Bay cuenta, al igual que Santa María, con salvavidas que se encargan de que todo esté bajo control. 

Hay baños públicos, palmeras altas que muchas veces sirven de sombrillas y muchos cabeños que se traen sus mariscos para comer un rico aperitivo mientras escuchan el sonido del mar.

  • Comer mariscos
  • Escuchar música mientras juegas en la playa
  • Leer un libro
Para que puedas llegar a cualquiera de las tres playas que acabo de mencionar, si vienes desde Cabo San Lucas, utiliza el corredor turístico y los señalamientos que van a mostrarse poco a poco de tu lado derecho. Las playas se encuentran relativamente cerca una de la otra.

¡No te quedes con las ganas de disfrutar una de las más grandes atracciones de  Los Cabos! Recorre cada una de las playas para poder decidir por tí mismo, cuál es la mejor opción en cada cada vez que visites LosCabos. O si eres local y casi no vas a nadar, comprueba por ti mismo lo bonito que es vivir en un lugar tan privilegiado como Baja California Sur.

Three beautiful beaches in Los Cabos

From all the beaches in Los Cabos, there are three that you can not miss. If you are vacationing for the first time in Baja California Sur, or if you are already living here and want to try out new adventures, we have some good advices for you!

Let´s start with Las Viudas. It is small, quiet and rocky beach near the sea. The rocks block the breaking of the waves, forming small pool like areas to relax in. The ocean of this beach, as same as the other ones has a variety of blue colors, from aqua blue to turquoise you will surely enjoy!

One of Las Viudas charms comes from it's accessible car access, very comfortable for  you to park if are driving.


What can you do in Las Viudas?
  • Grab your camera, you will shot amazing pictures!
  • Get some sun and a tan lotion.
  • Play a football game



Santa Maria is one of the most visited beaches in Los Cabos. It is known to be one of the best places to snorkel. In addition to its beauty, this beach just received the Blue Flag certification. It has bathrooms, ramps and a concrete entryway from the beach to the bathrooms.Yachts and boats anchor near the shore for their passenger to swim. 

Santa Maria has rich marine biosphere. It is a natural aquarium where people can enjoy snorkeling, children can play while their dads are laying down.

Also, this beach has equipment and lifeguards that are constantly looking outfor the sake of everyone. The parking lot was build out of cement and has a wide space.

What can you do in Santa Maria?
  • Build sand castles
  • Snorkel
  • Swim with the amazing biosphere



Last but not least, let´s talk about Chileno Bay. This beach, is one of the most popular of Los Cabos. Chileno is big and charming. Everytime I go, I enjoy swimming near the big rocks, where the water color changes to deep blue. The colors of this beach are also breathtaking, you can see your body through the water and the little fish saying hello.

Chileno also has lifeguards, public bathrooms and some palapas to keep yourself away from the sun. Lots of locals bring their own “ceviche” to eat  while having fun.
What to do in Chileno Bay?
  • Eat seafood
  • Listen to music while playing at the beach
  • Read a book


Do not worry about getting to these three beaches, there are signs at the Touristic Corridor that will show you where to take a turn. Just be watchful for the big signs with the names of each beach. The three are close to one another.

Sierra de la Laguna y sus rancheros



La
Reserva de la Biósfera Sierra de La Laguna es una cadena montañosa ubicada en el sur de la península Sudcaliforniana, dentro de los límites de los Municipios de Los Cabos y La Paz, comprendiendo una área de 112,437 hectáreas, declarada como Área Natural Protegida en 1994 debido a su importancia biológica, a la concentración de especies endémicas y a la diversidad de flora y fauna.



La Sierra de La Laguna representa la principal fuente de recarga de mantos freáticos del sur del estado, también dentro de esta serranía se encuentra la única selva baja caducifolia de toda la Península, así como el único bosque de pino y encino de Baja California Sur.

Los verdaderos Pioneros
Además de su significado ecológico, en La Sierra de La Laguna se encuentra la concentración más importante de ranchos y rancheros, siempre alrededor de un oasis los primeros fueron instalados entre mediados de los siglos XVI y XVII.
Descendientes de soldados, sirvientes y mayordomos que llegaron con el proyecto de colonización a cargo de los jesuitas, los rancheros representan un papel determinante en la historia sudcaliforniana, siendo el eslabón viviente con el pasado colonial.

Sierra de la Laguna and its ranchers


The reserve of the biosphere Sierra de La Laguna is a mountain range located at the southern tip of the Southern Baja California peninsula. It includes the municipalities of Los Cabos and La Paz and comprises an area of 112,437 hectares.


The reserve was declared a protected natural area in 1994 due to its biological significance, the concentration of endemic species and the diversity of flora and fauna.
Sierra de La Lagunahttp://tendenciaelartedeviajar.mx/en/2015/09/activities/alternative-tourism/ is home to the only low elevation deciduous forest on the Peninsula and includes forests of pine and oak.


True pioneers
In addition to its ecological significance, Sierra de La Laguna contains a rich concentration of ranchers. The first ranches were established here in the middle of the 16th and 17th centuries.

Descendants of soldiers and servants who arrived with the colonization projects under the command of the Jesuits, ranchers occupy an important role in Southern California history. They are the living link with the colonial past.

Gabriel Rodriguez exhibition in Tendencia Avenue

Gabriel Rodriguez was born in La Paz, Baja California Sur in 1991.






A self-taught visual artist, Gabriel is currently studying philosophy at the Autonomous University of Baja California Sur (UABCS). His passion for the visual arts led him to explore different areas with painting as his axis. He has also dabbled in photography, video production and sculpture.

The focus of his work is based on concerns such as time, space and the constant reflection of the landscape. Examples include works that explore the deconstruction of the latter to interpretations of it as a dream space and the construction of devices that put its qualities in crisis, making it a space of exception.

Gariel is the youngest artist to win first place in the 2014 Antonio Lopez Saenz Biennial of Visual Arts awards in Mazatlan, Sinaloa. Also the youngest to receive the acquisition prize in the 2012 and 2015 Carlos Olachea Boucsieguez Biennial of Visual Arts awards.

He has receive three honorable mentions in the painting category at the 2010 Carlos Olachea Biennial of Visual Arts, the 2012 Antonio Lopez Saenz Visual Arts and at the 2013 Northwest Biennial of Visual Arts.


In addition, his interest in literature led him to venture into illustrating covers and interior pages in publications for the Northwest Regional Cultural Center and UABCS. In 2011, he completed all the illustrations for the 2011 Tijuana National Poetry Prize with the visuals - poetic work “Hablar al cuadrado” (Square Talk). He won a 2011 university poetry prize for the work “Libro de voces” (Book of Voices) and the 2013 Todos Santos Short Story Competition in the youth category with the work “Newspaper, prensa para leerse en ninguna parte” (Newspaper, printed to be read nowhere).

As part of Tendencia Avenue project. Gabriel will present the work "Artifacts of Silence" from Wednesday April 6th to May 20th. Visit this exhibition open to the public at Luxury Avenue hallways.

Gabriel Rodríguez en Tendencia Avenue

Gabriel Rodríguez nace en La Paz, Baja California Sur en 1991. 
Artista visual de formación autodidacta. Estudia actualmente la carrera de Filosofía en la Universidad Autónoma de Baja California Sur (UABCS. Su pasión por las artes visuales lo han llevado a explorar distintos ámbitos, partiendo de la pintura como su eje, también ha incursionado en fotografía, video y escultura.

Su obra parte de preocupaciones como lo son el tiempo, el espacio y la constante reflexión del paisaje, desde muestras que exploran la deconstrucción de éste último hasta interpretaciones del mismo como espacio onírico y la construcción de dispositivos que ponen en crisis sus cualidades, tornándolo un espacio de excepción.

Es el artista visual más joven en ganar el Primer lugar en la XVIII Bienal de las Artes Visuales Antonio López Sáenz (Mazatlán Sinaloa, 2014).  También el más joven en recibir un premio de adquisición en la Bienal de Artes Visuales Carlos Olachea Boucsiéguez, en la  sexta y séptima edición (2012 y 2015).

Ha recibido 3 menciones honoríficas: en la categoría de pintura en la 5ª Bienal Carlos Olachea (2010) y el Premio de Artes Visuales Antonio López Sáenz 17º edición (2012), así como en la 14ª Bienal de Artes Visuales del Noroeste (2013).


Por otra parte, su interés en la literatura lo ha llevado a incursionar en ella. Colaborando con ilustraciones de portadas e interiores en publicaciones del Centro Cultural Regional del Noroeste y la UABCS. En 2011 realiza la ilustración completa del Premio Nacional de Poesía Tijuana 2011 con la obra visual - poética ¨Hablar al cuadrado¨. Gana el premio universitario de poesía con la obra ¨Libro de voces¨ (2011) y el Concurso de Cuento Todos Santos 2013 en la categoría juvenil con la obra ¨News Paper, prensa para leerse en ninguna parte".

Como parte del proyecto Tendencia Avenue. Gabriel expondrá la obra "Artefactos del Silencio" a partir del día Miércoles 6 de abril hasta el 20 de mayo. Visita esta exhibición abierta al público, dentro de las instalaciones de Luxury Avenue Los Cabos.
